Healthy Skin - Antioxidants

Antioxidants and essential fatty acids are key to prevent premature aging and good health. A well balance diet rich in anti oxidants and fatty acids will help all organs: (skin, liver, heart, kidneys etc..) function to their ultimate capacity with ease. With time, pollution and toxins, the body and the skin have to work harder to perform their duties and if not helped eventually break down and get out of balance. The results visible on the skin can be: premature aging, wrinkles, dry skin, blemishes, dark circle under the eyes, dull looking skin just to name a few.

A look at the AO and their role in the skin system.

Anti oxidants trap the free radicals so the skin ( and the rest of the body) can perform to ultimate capacity. The free radicals are mutant oxygen cells. They break through the membrane slow the regeneration of the cells, cause inflammation, favor the accumulation of toxins and weaken the immune system.

You can found it in found in nuts, pistachio and hazelnut, organ meat, muscle meat, rice bran, soya bean, fish (macquerel and sardines), sesame seeds, vegetables: cabbage, spinach, potato, onion, carrot. We need to supplement our diet with Q10 because it is very sensitive to the light. By the time, the food get to us, the percentage of Q10 is greatly diminished.

3- Vitamin E: One of the most powerful anti oxidant with vitamin C. Use in skin care creams to prevent damages caused by pollution, stress and toxins.

4- Vitamin C: Vitamin C traps the free radicals responsible for deteriorating cells and neutralizes the damaging effects of the sun rays. It also plays an active role in the process of creating collagen and regenerate cells. When the skin gets inflamed Vitamin C accelerates skin healing.

A diet rich in colorful, bright, fresh and as much as possible local vegetables and fruits will help you stay young and healthy from the inside out.
