Healthy Skin Tips

This is the time for garden cleaning and getting ready for planting bew seeds or plants, spring house cleaning and getting rid of clutter. It seems that spring brings this in us. A desire to get rid of the old to make room for the new.

It is no different with our skin and body. Last week I introduce you to a very easy to do cleanse by Richard Forish a Health Practionner from California. I do not know if you took the challenge of doing a 2 weeks cleanse following his advice. I did. I am only on day 2 and really realized how much processed foods I have in my diet, even though I thought I do not eat  processed foods ….

Back  to today’s topic. Cleansing the skin with a a dry body brush.

It is a great  way to detoxify the skin. It removes dead cells, improve blood and lymph circulation. So when combine with a cleansing diet, it will help the body dispose of the internal toxins.

What do you need

• Natural bristle brush, a loofah sponge or a hemp mit.

How to Proceed

• On your dry skin, use long upward sweeping movements starting with your feet and working your way up your legs, accross your hips and bottom. Make sure that your strokes are always towards your heart.
• Then in a clockwork motion go over your stomach, down your arms and towards your fingers.
• Do  not go over your breast, face or throat. The skin is very thin and vulnerable in those areas.

Once you are done, you can gave a nice warm shower or a relaxing bath.

Add Dead Sea salts to your bath. Magnesium and other essentials minerals will  stimulate your lymphatic system which help with the removal of toxins through the pores on the skin. A 20 to 30 minutes soak is best for maximum results. Make sure you drink plenty of good quality water and do not be surprise if you feel tired afterwards.

Detoxification can be quite draining on the body and make sure to schedule at least 1 hour of relaxation time afterwards.
